Save YouTube Videos Easily
For those who're caught unaware what's YouTube, it is a
website that allows posting and playing of videos including posting to
blogs. Now now, why would you want to capture videos? You want to keep
it right? And then play it over and over again till you drop. Here's
how I do it. Of course I don't play till I drop. I play till it drops!
Notice This is for Firefox Browser. For IE browser, see bottom.
1. Download VideoDownloader here. Scroll down a bit and click the green button that says Install Now. You had to restart Firefox.
2.
Make sure you're on the browser window opening Youtube of any video you
want to see. It's not me you're seeing. :) For eg. the link looks like
this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjYWTk6Q708&eurl=
If you are at other sites such as a blogger who post a YouTube video,
click on the YouTube and it will open another browser window.
3. At the bottom right of your browser, click the blue disc icon and a browser window appears. Right click on the Download Link and save the video file which will be in FLV format. There's also a link to download the FLV player which you need to play the downloaded video.
4. When you're finished, run the FLV player and choose the location of the saved video.
For IE users 1. Open your browser and go to this url http://javimoya.com/blog/youtube_en.php
2. Paste in the video url from the YouTube. Eg. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjYWTk6Q708&eurl=
3. Select YouTube and click Download.
4. Below it, right click on the Download Link and save the video file which will be in FLV format. There's also a link to download the FLV player which you need to play the downloaded video.
5. When you're finished, run the FLV player and choose the location of the saved video.
Happy
capturing and good luck. I haven't got the time to do conversion to
other format but most of the programs does not gave a good quality.
Some splits video and audio. Perhaps you can find one that is good and
recommend here.
